Rosie Goes Bananas... Again!
A few months ago I posted a video of Rosie eating.... well... staring at, bananas on her tray. She was not yet proficient in finger foods. Times have changed! Our little one has proven herself to be a "foody" and will pretty much devour anything that I place on her tray. Yesterday, I gave her tofu! She ate it, although I don't think it was her favorite. I got the green light from Rosie's pediatrician to start feeding her a variety of different foods. It's fun to watch her discover new tastes and textures!

May!
We have had a fun-filled May! Mommy turned 28- and had a rib feast (made by Chef Ron) to kick off the new year. We also celebrated Mother's Day with 4 generations of Bordeaux- Welch- Hunt- Eckert women. It was great to be together. Rosie went to her FIRST baseball game- wearing her Cubs uniform, even though we were watching the Angels beat the Dodgers. She's a Cubby through and through just like her Daddy and Papa. This weekend reached summer-ish temperatures. We beat the heat by purchasing a little pool for Rosie to lounge in. Our little Nemo loves the water!

On the Move!
We spent last weekend with our friends Dylan and Catherine at their parent's house in Brentwood. They had a huge lawn that Rosie and Wrigley could not get enough of. If only I chased after everything in life with as much enthusiasm as Rosie does!

Water Baby
Remember when I told you that Rosie made her way to Wrigley's water dish? Well, she did it again, and this time I caught her in the act. When I put her down, she always makes a mad dash for his dish. What you can't see in the video is that her little onesie is drenched! Mimi, don't worry. I threw her in the tub afterward!

Crawling, Swimming, and Flying!
So much to report!
Rosie is officially mobile! Although her crawl is not yet "graceful"- it certainly is efficient. This afternoon, I was attempting to do some work on the computer, so I left Rosie to play with some of her toys in front of the couch. A short while later, I checked in on her to see what she was up to, and found that she was gone. I found her in the kitchen splashing in Wrigley's water dish...
Rosie and I got to tag along on Ron's leadership retreat last weekend. Lucky for us, it meant staying in a hotel with an indoor pool! Rosie got to take her first dip- and loved it! I'm sure Ron will have her on a surf board in no time!
Many of you remember the bird's nest that I wrote about a while back. The 4 babies hatched about 2 weeks ago. We have loved watching all of the commotion and chaos in the nest, especially during feeding time. There was an unusual amount of activity this morning while Ron and I were watching. Suddenly, 3 of the babies formed a little line and flew away! We got to see it all take place. The 4th baby, bless her heart, was left in the nest chirping her heart out. I kept an eye on her all day as her brothers and sisters came back periodically to check on her. At one point the mama bird came back and fed her! Later in the afternoon she gathered up all of her courage and took flight while her family encouraged her from a nearby wire. She made it as far as the hanging flowerpot outside our back door. She regained her strength there, and then flapped her little wings as hard as she could and joined her family. I was grateful that I got to witness all of this today!

Jumpin' Rosie!
We finally got our "Jenny Jump Up" hung for Rosie. She is starting to get the hang of it, although she prefers to sit and have Mommy push her like she's swinging at the park. Sorry about my lack of film making skills- it's tough to hold the camera and encourage the child at the same time!
