The Underdog

Want to see something cute? Check out my sister's blog and her post, "Mimi Pushes Us Around."

Baptism

Sadie was baptized on Sunday at church. It was such a sacred moment for our family. What a gift to have such an amazing church community to surround us and vow to love and help us raise our girls with the Love of Christ. We're blessed beyond belief.

We were blessed to have my parents and the Hunts join us for the morning and an afternoon picnic at the park... thanks, Erin, for the great pictures. Sadie was a great sport. She's certainly showing us that she's developing a little personality of her own. When we first walked up onto the stage, I took out Sadie's "bink" so she wasn't standing in front of the church with her famous green pacifier in. We'd been standing up there for about 30 seconds when Sadie reached down into my hand, grabbed the pacifier and popped it back in her mouth. I imagined her saying, "I'll take THAT, thank you very much!"
She also decided that Tod's microphone looked like a lot of fun. The pastors at our church wear the Garth Brooks microphones... for lack of a better title. The whole time Tod was praying, Sadie was lunging from his arms after the microphone. By the time he said, "Amen," he was practically in a back bend trying to stay out of Sadie's grip. It was great.

I don't know if you've been able to sense from my last few blog posts, but I was in desperate need of a little break. Nothing fancy, just a little getaway. Ron suggested a night away in San Diego... ahhh, just what the doctor ordered. Poolside, Felippi's, Sea World... it was perfect.

Rosie's weekend started with a good nap in the hotel room. Naps on vacations are essential.
Sadie decided it was a good opportunity to show off her first tooth.

Sea World

Sea World is as good of a place as any to take a good snooze.

Baby Shower

My friend Catherine's baby is due any moment. Well, she looks like she's due any moment, but her due date is actually a month away. We had a sweet baby shower for her here on Sunday. What fun to celebrate new life.

Lucy Turns 3

We went to Lucy's birthday party on Saturday. It was at this fun park in La Canada that had a "river" running through it where the kids played. It was a breakfast party, so we all munched bagels, cereal, and doughnut "cupcakes."
Happy birthday, sweet niece. And, now, you are 3!

First Day

Mommy cried
Rosie didn't

Rosie's a Dolphin
The Dolphins played
The Dolphins listened to a story
The Dolphins sang
The Dolphins colored
The Dolphins went outside
The Dolphins had a snack
The Dolphins made new friends

Don't YOU want to be a Dolphin?

Celebratory lunch at La Tiendita

I couldn't wait for 11:45 :)

PS... It must be noted: I cried alone in the car while driving away.
I was brave and strong and all smiles for my girl.
