Tickled Pink!!

It's...... A GIRL!! We found out on Friday that we are expecting a baby girl. We are very excited! We went to the doctor for our fetal diagnostics ultrasound. We got to watch Baby E swim around in full HD quality. It was great. We had the doctor write down our baby's gender in a card, and seal it up so that we didn't know. We took our envelope to a frozen yogurt shop next door for the unveiling. We decided that I would open the card with Ron and Rosie waiting anxiously at a nearby table. If it was a boy, I was going to help myself to the self-serve Dutch Chocolate. If it was a girl, I was going to get Blueberry. Ron and Rosie closed their eyes and waited.........BLUEBERRY it is!

On Friday, Rosie decided that she would like to try her hand at painting. I will let you see the creativity that transpired.

Lady in Waiting

Rosie has 2 items that she is absolutely attached to. These guys come everywhere with us, and they are a necessity for naps, bedtime, scary situations, etc. The first item is a stuffed pig named, Apple, and the second is a fuzzy brown blanket named, Gee. Rosie often refers to them as one, in their celebrity couple name, Applegee. Weekly, I toss these 2 in the wash. If I time it right, and the load is done before nap time, Rosie doesn't notice their absence. Last week, however, Rosie witnessed Gee being put into the washer and completely freaked out. I tried to explain that Gee was in the bath, but it didn't work. I finally pulled a stool up and left the lid of the washer open so that Rosie could watch Gee having his bath! My little active girl waited patiently on the stool until the entire cycle was done, and played close by the dryer until Gee was clean and ready to be cuddled once more.

P.S I HAVE to mention: Yes, my daughter does own clothes other than the yellow Minnesota t-shirt. I've noticed that several of the recent pictures that I have posted are her sporting this little beauty.... but rest assured, I do bathe and dress her in other attire.

Make New Friends, But Keep The Old.

A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out Rosie's closet and putting clothes that didn't fit any longer into bins for storage. Rosie was "helping" by unloading and unfolding all of the clothes that I had just packed away :) One of the things that she came across was the hat from her monkey Halloween costume. She remembered that she had missed this old friend, and insisted on wearing it everywhere that we went for the next week. She calls it her "Mu-on Ha-ah."

Caution! Hard Hat Area!

For Father's Day, Rosie bought Ron a "tool set" so that they could do some projects together. Check out my handyman/handychild.

Happy 5 Dozen, Mimi!

My mom is going to kill me when she reads this. (Sorry, mom! I just have to!)
My mom turned 5 dozen last week! Happy Birthday, indeed! She pleaded with us that we not highlight the numbers.... so we stuck with 5 dozen. I could come up with a million dozen reasons why my mom is incredible... here are just a few:

1. We celebrate you because you're our (closet) football, basketball and Cornhole analyst

2. We celebrate you because no one sings, The Wheels on the Bus, or, No More Monkeys, like Mimi.

3. We celebrate you because you're the Bear Whisperer.

4. We celebrate you because you make every room comfortable and every house feel like home

5. We celebrate you because you make us all feel safe.

6. We celebrate you because you've taught us the importance of always keeping a pair of "creekwalking" shoes available.

7. We celebrate you because you say "yes!" more than "no."

8. We celebrate you because you've said the perfect things at the perfect times:
"You can make it." "Great Job!" "Go back to bed." "Let it go." You're OK." "Go for it!" "I am proud of you."

She's our hero!
To top it all off, my dad bought her a Beach Cruiser for her birthday. What a great gift. We love you, mom.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

She's adorable and she can cook! Her specialty is apple juice and Wheat Thins- watch out, Ina Garten!
