Barnes' Baptism

Sweet Barnes was baptized at our church in November this year.  Pastor Candy did an amazing job and gave our community permission to "meddle" in Barnes' life as he grows, so that he might one day say an emphatic "Yes" to the God that has already said, "Yes" to him.
Oh, sweet boy. You are so loved. You will never know anything different.
Allison Uncle Dave, Auntie Gayle and Allison came in from out of town to be there for the celebration. All of our "in town" family came too and we invited tons of our friends, lots of whom don't go to church, to be part of Barnes' special day. We believe that our son will be raised, in part, by his "team" and man, does he have an awesome team! We pulled out all of the stops for our little guy and invited everyone back to our house where we had a taco cart waiting. Ron's secretary, Melissa painted a tree and we had everyone put their fingerprint and name as the leaves on the tree to represent the multitude of people that are in Barnes' life and on his team. Ron commissioned, Matt, the tattoo artist neighbor at his office to paint a picture that Ron has had in his mind since the day Barnes was born. I'm so grateful for this group of people and this gathering. I know, when I look at these friends and family, that we were not created to live solitary lives. Instead, we were created to experience and extend the love and grace of the Lord as we live together in community.
